Kellen Niemeier

Kellen Niemeier is a quixotic, pragmatist born in Englewood, Colorado during the Holocene epoch  of the Cenozoic era. Niemeier was homogenized at Metropolitan State University Denver, where upon the  marginalization of self, they were indoctrinated to completion with an emphasis in painting. Niemeier  currently provides sprawling catharsis, humor, commentary, and capitulation in the form of paint-fueled  work that seeps rhythmically into reality from his Dover based studio.

Ok, now to break the “third wall” a  moment, and depart from the third person. Two, almost three years ago, my father underwent surgery to  replace four vertebrae. The following recovery was impeded by his early on-set Parkinson’s. The situation  got to the point where I had to become a full time caregiver five to six days a week. After two surgeries,  three physical rehabs, and one move across the county I am now no longer hanging myself from the rope  of love and obligation. Playing the role of a familial Atlas for years has left me, an artist, ravenous for  amelioration, knowledge, and to continue to hone my craft. I seek to harness specifically hijacked synaptic  flashes tearing through imagination with the fury of a feral locomotive billowing black bilge at breakneck  speeds slowly breaking.
